View of Feature light from beneath. Think I choose it cause it looks very symmetrical. Killed my budget quite a bit, so it better look good.

Progress... Progress

It has been close to 2 weeks since I last updated the reno blog. We've firmed our curtain supplier, firmed carpentary and colours for our house, purchased our lights. Purchased our dinning table, coffee table, firmed the measurement and material for our sofa, confirmed our WIW. Quite a bit completed I must say.

Time to share some before and after pictures.

The over priced teka hob which we both love.
Very dirty foyer area. The tiles are dark grey with sparkles.

Our kitchen door which has been reduced in size for fengshui reason.
Fridge base, we are both very pleased with the smooth edges.

Work In Progress

The wall between the MBR + BR2 which we retained. Right side is where the WIW will be. Left will be the bedroom area.

We've got a new hob!

It has been a while since I last updated the reno blog. Progress for the tiling has been rather smooth after we finally decided that we will do away with skirting. It took tremendous amount of courage to stand by our decision cause the tiler himself dun recommand that. We are talking about flooring here, not every month that you can change that leh. But what to do, we stubborn and finally they themselves also agreed that it looks nice w/o skirting. In fact, when we wanted to do skirting, they said that it looks nicer without. So far, I'm rather pleased with their workmanship and Henry has been rather compromising with our flicker minds. Thumbs up to him and Jack for being so patient with us.

The tiling has more or less been completed, leaving only the kitchen, parts of the living room and the MBR. Aircon pipping is going to be up on Friday and following which, we should be firming on the carpentary and colour scheme of the place. We've more or less decided what we want, but will seek advise from the paint coordinator.

Oh yah, Asia axel informed us that the teka hob which we ordered was out of stock and will only be available in September. We were quite depressed about it and tried to find ways to solve the problem of the missing hob. Somehow, during the decision making process, we got carried away and decided to upgrade our hob to one which can easily buy us a LCD TV for the bedroom.

No idea what got into us, but we were pretty happy about the "upgrade" though it did really burst our budget. SO was happy with the touch control panel which means that we dun have to care about the knobs anymore. We can heat up big pots of curry given the bigger burner. It has acoustic sensor (no idea what this is about though) and security blocking, digital programming of the cooking time, timer function with acoustic alarm. Personally I love the timer, digital programming and alarm function most. It means I dun have to check on the stove all the time. I can set the cooking time to 10 mins, bath and come out to be greeted by a hard boil egg without worrying abt the water overfollowing from extended cooking cause it will "shut down" the burner by itself. I have a feeling that this is going to be my favourite appliance in my entire house. It better be, for that price. =)

We went searching for curtains today. Came up to cheaper than what we were quoted previously but still above our miserable budget. We were feeling poor from the hob upgrade so we told the person to recommand us the cheapest curtains available. Hopefully we can get a better price as the search continues.

As we were in lavendar area, we decided to walk down Jalan Basar to look at toilet accessories and lights. Nothing fantastic except that we received quite a bit of tips from the Poh Joo sales person on choosing a shower head. Now we are trying to see if we can afford to change the shower head into those square ones.
Oh no... more money.

Went to the mega mattress place and seems that we made a wrong choice. It's so tiring trying to find a good mattress and seems that different merchants carry different series of the same brand so it's difficult to compare. We'll just choose something okie and get the sales lady to quote us. Lazy liao....
